This course was a lot of fun. I will
never forget Crystal telling us over and over to READ to your kids EVERY day! Reading is the foundation to an education.
I can't express the importance of learning to reading and reading to learn. In all of my observations, I must say that teaching
reading is a little intimidating. However, I have learned many ways to make it fun and effective. I will read to my
students every day, no matter what grade I may teach. I was also told that even high school students enjoy being read to.
Of all the things I remember enjoying in school, it was being read to. I loved it and to this day love to read.
I want to give my students the gift of enjoying a good
book. It is my job to expose my students to a very wide variety of books in hopes that they will find their passion for reading.
This class goes so well with my Children's Literature class. Both classes show the value of reading and being read to
because let's face it, if children don't learn to read, school and life will be a struggle for them. It's the foundation for
many, many things. Reading provides richness in an aesthetic sense and for the acquisition of knowledge.
